URBANIZATION OF LA FOSCA SEA PROMENADE, COSTA BRAVA

Palamós. Girona / 1995 | 1996-1997 / 21.500 m2
Finalist of FAD Prizes 1997.

The promenade is opened towards the beach of “ La Fosca”, one of the most typical of the Costa Brava.
The proposal is a natural promenade integrated into the local landscape, rejecting other alternatives with a more urban character. The combination of parts with hard and soft pavement, and the irregular disposition of vegetation help to integrate it in its immediate environment.
The walk is arranged in four sectors with a certain differentiation: the first section tied to the road of La Fosca and the existing row-houses; the second section which is exclusively for pedestrian use, forms a rampart walk that connects the beaches of La Fosca with the Sant Esteve’s; a third area, in the north sector, which draws a great platform and, finally, a development on the approach road to Sant Esteve's castle.
