RESTORATION OF THE SANT FELIU BASILICA IN GIRONA

Girona / 2006-2008 | 2008-2010

Team:  Fuses-Viader + Jordi Paulí

Sant Feliu's Church is, along with the Cathedral, one of the most significant temples of the historical centre of Girona, and still preserves several parts of its Romanesque origins.

The intervention has consisted in the restoration of the bell tower and the baroque facade (2006/08) with the processes of cleanliness, substitution of damaged elements of stone, structural consolidation of the pinnacles, and waterproofing and restoration of the rosette. It has also been restored the interior of the Gothic nave (2008/10) by recovering the paintings of the keystone and boss of the vaults that were hidden from the baroque era by a layer of lime.
